In the world of mass fatality response, the landscape is shifting beneath our feet. For years, the paradigm relied heavily on federal intervention. However, as federal footprints consolidate, a new truth has emerged: the most effective response is the one that starts at home. True resilience isn't just about having the right gear; it’s about fostering a culture of self-reliance and regional brotherhood that ensures no community stands alone in its darkest hour.

Strength Through Regional Unity

We are entering an era where state lines are no longer boundaries, but seams that we sew together through shared training and mutual trust. Our partnerships with IN-MORT (Indiana) and MI-MORT (Michigan) are the cornerstone of this strategy.

By aligning our search and recovery protocols, we become a unified Tri-State Shield. This collective resilience ensures that if a disaster exceeds the capacity of one state, a massive, synchronized force of experts is ready to move within hours, not days. We speak the same language, utilize the same DVI software, and share the same unwavering commitment to providing dignity to the fallen.

The Road to Resilience:

To turn this vision into reality, we are officially beginning the countdown to another ambitious undertaking: A full-scale, multi-day deployment designed to push our regional integration to its limit. We are stress-testing the future of mortuary response.

Phase I: Strategic Planning Initiated

Final Phase: to be complete April 2027

The full-scale exercise. A comprehensive, 72-hour mass fatality simulation testing regional search and recovery, identification, and family assistance.

Our Mission is Clear: We aim to be the Last Responders prepared for any call. Our goal is to develop a system so robust that federal assistance serves as a supplement rather than a necessity.

Official dates for will be announced as planning matures. For now, we remain focused on the work, the training, and the partnerships that make OMORT a leader in the field.
